5 Reasons to Register to the SETGYC Congress

Be exposed to the entire breadth of the gene therapy research field. Learning about the advances and breakthroughs in other focuses of study can translate to new approaches for your own lab’s work that you may not think to explore without this exposure. SETGYC is the best place to gain a broad perspective on the field.

Bring information and training back to the lab. Findings presented at the conference can be shared with other lab and team members to extend the benefits of attending to your entire research group.

Learn about the newest data and tools from the poster sessions and the exhibition. Labs save time and money by improving their research methods. New tools and technologies are unveiled to attendees of SETGYC meeting.

Registration Guidelines

Registration is in English and the congress currency is EURO €.

Abstract Submissions
Abstracts can be submitted once your congress registration is complete; you will be able to submit your abstract as part of the Meeting registration process. 

Registrations must be paid for based on the general payment guidelines for all registrations; however those submitting abstracts can avail of a full refund should their abstract not be selected for oral or poster presentations and the delegate no longer wish to attend the congress.
Please refer to the ‘abstract submission guidelines’ should you wish to submit an abstract.

Payment Guidelines

Payment by PayPal is preferred and will ensure your registration is activated immediately. Please note that you do NOT need to have an account with PayPal in order to use this service.
Payments by bank transfer must be received within 2 weeks of your invoice date.


Payment of your congress registration fee entitles you to the following:

  • Participation at all scientific sessions

  • Access to poster and sponsor exhibitions

  • Daily coffee breaks and lunch, welcome and closing events and award ceremonies

Generous sponsorship enables us to keep the registration rates well below the market norm, especially for students.

Invoicing
Invoices are available through your profile on the SETGYC website. PLEASE NOTE that no separate invoices will be created / sent by the congress office.

Cancellations and Substitutions
We will refund as follows:

  • For cancellations received by April 22nd: 95% refund

  • For cancellations received by May 6th: 80% refund

  • For cancellations received by May 16th: 50% refund

  • For cancellations received after this date: NO REFUND

Refund / cancellation requests must be sent in writing to office@setgyc.es. Where possible refunds will be processed within 3 weeks of receipt; however based on timing and congress workload, refunds may not be processed until after the congress.

In the case of cancellation where a delegate wishes to move their registration to a colleague; please request this in writing to office@setgyc.es. Membership cannot be transferred and if the registration was for a SETGYC member, the colleague the registration is transferred to will need to purchase the relevant membership if they are not already a member. Refunds for differing registration fees will not be given.

Certificates
A Certificate of Attendance and a Certificate of Presentation (where applicable) will be available in your 'Congress Materials' in your online SETGYC account after the event.

Health and Safety Information

Please read the following guidelines before registering and attending the SETGYC Event.*

 

If you require a COVID test, this can be done at Hospital Quironsalud - https://www.quironsalud.es/sagrado-corazon.
 

  1. You must provide an EU Digital COVID certificate, or other accepted certificate, on entry to the Meeting venue.
    If you have been vaccinated in another country, you must check that your vaccination certificate is accepted in Spain. More information.

  2. If you a traveling to Spain from abroad, you must check travel and entry requirements before booking. More information.

  3. Face masks must be worn in the Meeting venue and good hygiene and COVID prevention methods followed. 

  4. Do not attend the event if you have any COVID symptoms.

 

Registration Terms and Conditions specific to COVID-19

  • All attendees must self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 throughout the event. Attendees understand and acknowledge that at every instance they attend an in-person event, they are affirming that they are not experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

  • We will offer full refunds if you are unable to attend the event due to COVID-19, such as testing positive for COVID-19, being in self-isolation/quarantine, or if there are changes to travel regulations. Contact us as soon as possible to arrange this.

  • Any costs incurred due to COVID-19 regulations, such as tests or accommodation for quarantine or self-isolation, are not covered by the Society.

  • If the meeting is cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, all delegates will be offered full refunds or for their registrations transferred to a postponed or future SETGYC event. The Society cannot cover any additional costs, such as refunds for travel or accommodation. Delegates are responsible for taking appropriate insurance (including travel) cover in connection with their attendance at the event.

 

COVID-19 Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability
COVID-19 is contagious and may be spread by person-to-person contact. We have instigated health and safety precautions consistent with the WHO guidance, local governmental agencies, health authorities, and best practices recommended by the facilities in locations where we will be hosting the event. 

 

Despite reasonable precautions taken, SETGYC cannot ensure that you will not be exposed to or contract COVID-19 as a result of participating in this event or related activities. By choosing to voluntarily register and participate, all attendees understand, acknowledge, and assume the risk of potential exposure to COVID-19 at the event.

 

You further acknowledge that you understand and assume the risk that exposure to and contraction of COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself and others, including, but not limited to, SETGYC employees, officers, representatives, agents, and any others present at the SETGYC event(s). Additionally, you agree to release and hold harmless SETGYC and its employees, officers, representatives, and agents from all claims, demands, damages, costs, losses or liabilities of any kind which arise out of or result from attendance at and participation in SETGYC event.
