Anastasia Conti

San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy

Dr Conti is a Senior PostDoctoral Researcher at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy in Milan. She is a pioneer and leading expert in mechanisms of transposable elements biology in normal and malignant hematopoiesis, DNA damage Response and senescence, with a specific expertise in genetic engineering of human hematopoietic stem cells (HSPC). She discovered CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing activates a p53 response in HSPC and devised a strategy of p53 temporary inhibition to improve the yield of long-term repopulating HSPC.
